According to researcher Dr. Delbert Blair, female parthenogenesis was practiced regularly right up until the C17th but was phased out by a group of French doctors who circulated letters amongst the medical community stating that the practice of parthenogenesis amongst females ‘must not be allowed to continue’. This means that genetically speaking, male is an extension of female. And not the other way around as we are led to believe. It is said that Tauret / Taweret / Taurt / Thoueris, who was the Egyptian hippopotamus goddess of creation associated with fertility, maternity and childbirth, was one of these wise high priestesses, who recorded her wisdom for the posterity of humanity in a volume containing 78 leaves. The word ‘leaves’ for pages-of-a-book is still in use today. In her capacity as a goddess of creation, she was also a goddess of protection, depicted in the form of a hippopotamus and was the most famous hippopotamus deity from ancient Egypt, associated with both Isis and Hathor, a goddess of music, dance, joy, love, sexuality, and maternal care.
The name hippopotamus comes from an ancient Greek word that translates to mean ‘river horse’ and the hippo is the third-largest land mammal following the elephant and rhinoceros. The ancient Egyptians observed the female hippopotamus to be fiercely protective of her children which led to the formation of this goddess. The male hippopotamus was observed to be very aggressive when threatened and was considered to be one of the most dangerous animals in Egypt. Tauret / Taweret’s book, inscribed upon 78 leaves was entitled ‘The Royal Path To Life’ and was a guide to connecting with one’s inner-wisdom and divine sovereignty, recognising that there would be many paths with various challenges along the way to overcome. Today these challenges are often referred to as the ‘Twelve Labour’s of Man’ referencing the 12 conditions of the sine wave and the 12 houses of the astrological wheel. Her book was discovered in the underground library of Alexandria which once formed part of the city’s famous Great Library and can be found under the ruins of the Serapeum, in Alexandria, Egypt, which was an ancient temple dedicated to the worship of the Greco-Egyptian deity Serapis.
This Egyptian book of wisdom later formed the basis of the Torah, which in turn later formed the Old Testament of the Bible, and the 78 cards of the Tarot Deck are still popular today. Many male cultures have been programmed to walk a path of service-to-self and personal gain, which I believe is an intentional mislead of the male psyche by the deep state to prevent men from stepping into their divine sacred masculine, who would automatically support the inner-wisdom and intuition of the divine sacred feminine whose visiions of how to make the world a better place assists all members of the community to thrive, thereby cultivating team building, inclusiveness, creativity and innovation, simply by choosing to think, feel and act in the Presence of Love, as a direct extension of Source, respecting all fellow Direct-Extensions-of-Source-Energy who walk alongside us.
The absence of a Matriarchal presence in society now means that there is little to no awareness of nonphysical Energy, such as the law of vibration, the law of attraction, the law of sensation in response to nature, the ability to feel, sense, and appreciate other states of energy. The only available option is to consciously choose love over fear. Choosing the path of love IS a spiritual path. And this choice doesn’t require a book. Many a woman’s downfall was to follow the societal programming of marriage and children with an inappropriate choice of partner. As there are no help-meets for a woman, as most men are too programmed and too self-absorbed in their own desires, walking only a path of service to self, ‘what you see is what you get’ I was once told, which does not include the consideration of female aspiration, dreams, desires, ambition, values, sentiments, or nature’s hidden ways. One person’s incomprehension of another’s extremity, can refer to extreme sensitivity relating to inner sensibilities such as the heart’s expression, of simply living harmonic resonance with the muse of the arts, poetry, literature, music, dance, and the domains of Mother Nature and Mother Earth, bearing significant matriarchal references that point to the presence of God as a Creatrix, hidden in the background, largely ignored and underrepresented, in preference of patriarchal religious propaganda.
Therefore, maintaining one’s alignment with The All There Is, is always: Thinking, Feeling, and Operating in the Presence of Love. This is also the holy trinity of manifesting a reality that is truly desired as realities built without these qualities lack satisfaction or fulfillment. This process is derived through one’s alignment with the omnipotent presence of divine Love. It restores one’s inner confidence and self-belief and in turn one’s ability to experience Self-Love, Worthiness and Deservedness, training the mind to think, feel and operate in healthier and more refined ways. Collapsing oneself into lower desires destroys this momentum. What we perceive as negative / evil / ignorant, is simply thinking, feeling and behaving in the absence of Love’s Presence. My favourite quote from the book ‘A Course in Miracles’ by Helen Schucman, that best illustrates this is: ‘The opposite of fear is Love, but what is all encompassing can have no opposite.’ This means holding the space for those who haven’t got there yet without judgment. Most people find this challenging as passing judgment enables the ego to feel superior, and more important, however, this is not operating in Love’s Presence.
The purpose of life is to cultivate an awareness of Love’s Presence. An omnipresent presence. And one doesn’t require a manual to do this. It means extending forgiveness daily to oneself for the things that cant be changed and to the memories of people who were once unkind, as they were demonstrating their own lack of self-love and as such become our greatest teachers on our own path to self-worth and self-love. We only ever unite with those with whom we share our deepest wound and as we begin to heal our emotional wounds, we move apart. Once one can consciously and intentionally embody self-worth and self-love, this can never be taken away. “This painting was based on the natural home birth of my second son, Toivo in 1961, a birth that I experienced as a first initiation to the Great Mother who is both imminent and transcendent, both dark and light. For the first time I experienced the enormous power of my woman’s body, both painful and cosmic and I “saw” in my mind’s eye great luminous masses of blackness and masses of radiant light coming and going. In ancient matrifocal cultures during the Neolithic, women gave birth in the sacred precincts of the Great Goddess where they were attended by shaman priestesses who were midwives, herbal healers and astrologers. Birth was a sacrament and Vicki Noble once wrote that the original shaman is the birthing woman as she flies between the worlds bringing the spirits of the ancestors back into this realm, risking their own lives whilst doing so. We are spirit embodied. I had given birth to my first son in a hospital in Stockholm and it had been a disaster for both of us. This home-birth, without medical and technical interventions, opened me up to the powers of the Great Mother. I wanted to create a painting that would express my emerging religious belief in the Great Mother as the Matrix of cosmic creation. I didn’t want Her to be a white woman. As a result of this work I was nearly taken to Court and my painting was censured many times during the ’70s and ’80s. It was considered “ugly”, “obscene” and “blasphemous”. A modern day witch-hunt was carried out against me and my work. In 1968 there was also no women’s arts movement or a Goddess movement and I felt totally alone. I had a sense though that ancient women, who coincide with us in another time-space, were communicating with and through me. I was their medium and gateway into this world. Without the sense of being one in a long line of women active and surviving through the millennia, I would probably have gone out of my mind with anger and loneliness as well as grief at what we women of today have lost.”

IN THE closest thing to a human virgin birth that modern science has ever recorded, British geneticists last week described the remarkable case of a young boy whose body is derived in part from an unfertilised egg. The discovery has provided a rare glimpse into the control of human development and the evolutionary changes that made sex essential for mammalian reproduction.
Parthenogenesis – development of an unfertilised female sex cell without any male contribution – is a normal way of life for some plants, insects and even lizards. Sometimes, an unfertilised mammalian egg will begin dividing, but this growth usually does not get far. The self-activated “embryo” will create rudimentary bone and nerve, but there are some tissues, such as skeletal muscle, that it cannot make, preventing further development. Instead, it becomes a type of benign tumour called an ovarian teratoma.
Why mammals should have evolved these blocks to parthenogenesis is hotly debated (see “Why genes have a gender”, New Scientist, 22 May 1993), but the blocks mean that sex is necessary for mammalian reproduction and development.
Now David Bonthron and his colleagues at the University of Edinburgh have shown that this is only partly true. In this month’s issue of Nature Genetics (vol 11, p 164), they describe the case of a three-year-old boy they call FD, who has mild learning difficulties and asymmetric face features, but otherwise seems healthy.
The geneticists first realised that FD was unusual when they looked at his white blood cells. Because FD is a boy, his cells should all have a Y chromosome, which contains the gene for “maleness”. But his cells contain two Xs, the chromosomal signature of a female.
Occasionally, chromosomal females carry one X chromosome bearing a chunk of the Y chromosome which includes the maleness gene. Bonthron and his colleagues initially assumed that FD was an example of this syndrome. But even when they used extremely sensitive DNA technology, they were unable to detect any Y chromosome material in FD’s white blood cells.
The real surprise came when the researchers discovered that the boy’s skin is genetically different from his blood, with the skin containing the normal X and Y chromosomes of a typical male. This clue prompted them to look more closely at FD’s X chromosomes. In a normal female, each cell contains two different Xs, one from the father and one from the mother.
The researchers examined DNA sequences all along the X chromosomes in FD’s skin and blood, and discovered that the X chromosomes in all his cells were identical to each other and derived entirely from his mother. Similarly, both members of each of the 22 other chromosome pairs in his blood were identical and derived entirely from the mother.
What could explain this unusual mixture of genetics in one person? The researchers believe that FD’s development started when an unfertilised egg self-activated and began to divide. A sperm cell then fertilised one of the cells, and the mixture of cells began to develop as a normal embryo. This fusion with a sperm must have occurred very early on, because self-activated eggs quickly lose the ability to be fertilised. At some point, the unfertilised cells must have duplicated their DNA, boosting their chromosome number back up to 46. Where the unfertilised cells hit a developmental block, the researchers believe, the fertilised cells compensated and filled in that tissue.
The researchers say that FD’s case demonstrates that whatever blocks there are to successful human parthenogenesis, unfertilised cells are clearly not always disabled. For example, these cells were able to create a seemingly normal blood system for FD.
FD’s case also fits in with research in mice, where researchers have been able to create partially parthenogenetic animals by in vitro fertilisation. Azim Surani, a geneticist at the University of Cambridge, says that his experiments have also identified skin as a tissue in which parthenogenetic cells are usually excluded, presumably because they have trouble developing. He says that these similarities suggest that the barriers to development without a father were set early in mammalian evolution.
Experiments with mice have also shown that parthenogenetic cells grow more slowly than normal cells and that the two can co-exist in the same tissue. The proportion of parthenogenetic cells in a given tissue type can also vary throughout the body. The researchers believe this could explain why FD’s face is slightly asymmetric, with features smaller on the left-hand side. Bonthron notes that one in every few hundred people has slight asymmetry, and it is possible that some of these people could also be partially parthenogenetic.
Nevertheless, Bonthron believes that similar cases are incredibly rare. Many different types of disturbance in early development can cause body asymmetry, and FD’s remarkable genetics depended upon a highly unusual combination of circumstances occurring within a very short time window. “I don’t expect we’ll ever see another one,” says Bonthron.
