I would like to extend my sincere thanks and appreciation to all the people who have purchased various iterations of my book during it’s developmental trajectory over the years. I am now extremely pleased (and proud) to be able to announce that October 2026 sees the launch of the fully revised and expanded 2nd Edition of Noēma Poēma and replaces all former iterations that I have produced in the past.
The Noēma Poēma codex tracks my journey from a state of relative unawareness as an innocent 23-year-old in 1988, also the last pre-digital decade of the 20th Century, as yet untouched by the saturation of smart phones, text messages, emails, social media or the internet, through to full awareness in a post-digital, post-Agenda 21 and the post-covid millennial years of the 21st Century that we find ourselves in today. The book starts slowly but then picks up speed as I attempt to navigate the onset of a rapidly changing world in the throes of a worldwide automated digital consolidation, whilst retaining my authentic voice.
As a writer one cannot preempt when the muse of inspiration is going to visit, (which in my case is mostly in the small hours), and so one of the challenges that this book has presented to me, (which I affectionately nick-named: the never-ending book—as I always seem to be working on it), is that new ideas seem to magically materialise as if from thin air, which then require transcribing, editing and adding to the collection. Another challenge has been deciding which of the earlier titles to keep in, and which to leave out. I have attempted to stay true to the authenticity of my earlier years as I believe that the trajectory of how my self expression and critical thinking matures over time is an important part the journey.
Noēma Poēma is also the linguistic and lyrical engine for my entire interactive universe. For me, Noēma Poēma isn’t just a book, or an isolated collection of poetry; it holds the original literal text strings—that birthed the songs, that in turn, act as the digital materiality that animates the childhood photographs within the collected analogue artist’s book (Sequence / Album Amicorum) designed during my studies at the RCA, using the XR Python. The Noēma Poēma codex consists of 137 titles / chapters spanning 446 pages and is available in both hardcover and paperback.
